The charge duration does not depend solely on the recharge point’s output but also on the capacity of the vehicle’s battery (which is usually not recharged from 0) and the maximum charge the vehicle allows.

From 2018 to January 2020, the number of electric vehicles in the Dominican Republic increased almost ninefold, from 55 to around 472. Jamaica, in 2018, recorded approximately 10 EVs, but today has 52 AEVs and 113 hybrids. In 2017, Uruguay reported 489 electric cars and 376 hybrids. The region has made notable strides in the past couple of years with room for improvement in electromobility now and for the immediate future.
